We opened Central Square Optical because East Boston deserved a local eyewear shop that actually knows its customers by name. A place where you can walk in, take your time, and leave with frames that genuinely fit your face and your life.
We serve families, working professionals, students, and seniors — anyone who needs great vision and a pair of frames they feel good in. Our staff speaks your language, knows the neighborhood, and is here to make the whole process easy.
Meet the owner
Christopher Suriel
Licensed Optician & Founder
Christopher is a Massachusetts Licensed Optician with both ABO and NCLE certifications — credentials that reflect a deep commitment to the craft of opticianry. With almost 10 years of hands-on experience in the optical field, he has developed a genuine passion for helping people see their best and feel confident in the frames they wear. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Christopher is proud to serve East Boston's diverse community and make every customer feel right at home.
Along the way, Christopher was fortunate to be mentored by his father-in-law — a seasoned optician with over 35 years in the field. That relationship deepened his appreciation for the craft and reinforced the values he already believed in: patience, precision, and treating every customer with genuine care.
Opening Central Square Optical was the natural next step — a chance to build something of his own in the community he calls home. Christopher's goal is simple: to bring the same level of expert, personal care to East Boston that he has dedicated his career to providing.
